Equips the student with reasons for his faith in accordance with I Peter 3:15 which says, ”Always be ready to give reason of the hope that is in you.” Apologetics analyzes the reliability of the New and Old Testaments, messianic and historical prophecies, the resurrection and archaeological studies.
Applied Humanities I
(men and women taught separately)
Men: Designed to give the student practical knowledge of electricity, carpentry, plumbing, and auto mechanics. Enables the student to do his own home repair work, without the expensive aid of professionals.
Women: Hands-on experience in preparing meals, entertaining, decorating and all the general needs of managing a home.
Applied Humanities II
Students will learn the importance and methods of developing and maintaining relationships in all areas of human interaction. The course begins by exploring the student’s relationship with God and progresses to the proper subsequent hierarchy of relationships with spouse, family, church, community, nation and world. Emphasizes the responsibilities and obligations these relationships create for the Christian.
Christianity and the Sciences
Discusses the witness of God’s hand in creation versus the secular views of evolution; studies the Biblical basis for science; explores the historical progress of scientific discovery and the contributions of Christian scientists; specifically delves into the witness of God’s providence in astronomy, botany, geology, meteorology, physics and numerology.
Contemporary Culture & Philosophy I & II
Studies the development of modern western thought and culture from the early New Testament Christians up to the 20th century United States. Covers the growth and changes in art and philosophy from a Christian perspective. The primary text is Understanding the Times, which is a comparative analysis of the predominant world views.
Family Life
Teaches the Godly design of the family through understanding the role of the man, woman and child within the family unit. Deals with relationships between the wife, husband, parents and children, extensively discussing methods of child discipline, as well as important marital issues. Students learn by example through the godly pattern lived out in front of them by staff families.
Fundamentals of Public Speaking
(Speech) Motivates students to become effective communicators and provides a setting in which to practice fundamental techniques. Students learn the mechanics of the communication process in practical applications like job interviews, informative and persuasive speeches, and debates. This is a great tool for students to overcome fears of public speaking so God can use them to share the hope that is in them.
History of American Government I & II
Surveys the field of political science with an emphasis on the Christian foundation of America. The Biblical basis for America’s form of government is discussed through exploration of the federal, state and local governments. Discusses issues concerning the Constitution, current political trends, Christian activism and how to apply Biblical principles in understanding world events.
History of Christianity
Begins with the last book of the Old Testament, covering the 400 years before Jesus’ birth, culminating in contemporary times. Studies the conception, fetal development and birth of the Body of Christ. The student will develop an appreciation for the miracle of Christianity and a better understanding of the purpose and function of the present day Body of Christ.
Introduction to Humanities I
(men and women taught separately)
Men: This class instructs men in hygiene, etiquette, protocol and chivalry; also covers their Biblical roles as protector, provider and guide.
Women: Detailed coverage of Proverbs 31 in pursuit of becoming a virtuous woman. Make-up design, clothing, fashion, and color coordination are discussed and applied. Emphasizes lifestyle skills in social settings, temperament management, and communication.
Introduction to Humanities II
Teaches students how to make decisions in areas of daily living, such as pros and cons of buying an automobile, a house, insurance and much more. Teaches students extensively the area of finances, principles of stewardship, tithing, investing, saving and more so students will be blessed in the area of their finances.
Life of Christ
A look into the life of the greatest man who ever walked the earth. By learning from the Master, students will plunge into the infinite depths of prayer, discover the awesome power of faith, and come to know intimately the greatest King, Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Management of Life
Encourages leadership abilities and develops individual potential. Students observe their habits, organizational skills and mental patterns, and learn time management
New Testament
Examines the gospels in light of Jesus as King, Servant, Man, and God. Explores the history and growth of the church through studies of Paul’s epistles. Each writing is reviewed thoroughly by discussing the dates, authors, problems, answers, purpose and audience. Every book is analyzed in the Eschatological, Soteriological, Christological and Ecclesiological categories.
Old Testament
Examines the Old Testament in light of God’s plan of redemption. Reveals God’s character through the Pentateuch and the writings of the Prophets. Special attention is given to each book in its application for today. Each book is viewed individually, whether historically, devotionally, apocalyptically and instructively. The student reads the Old Testament, learns dates, authors, problems addressed in the books and the audiences addressed.
Pauline Epistles
Introduces the life, missionary journeys, and epistles of Paul the Apostle. Students learn to explore the doctrinal and practical aspects of each letter. As students research each letter, they develop good study methods and gain practice using various Bible study tools.
Prayer & Intercession
Offers insight into the intimacy of prayer demonstrated by God’s people in the Scriptures. Teaches how to learn the will of God, how to pray the will of God, and how to develop a disciplined prayer life. Prayer and Intercession is a study of the power and results of honest prayer before God.
